CCRE Therapeutics currently runs a number of national and international trials and manages the databases of a number of large clinical registries through our Clinical Informatics and Data Management Centre.
Latest News:
CCRE Director, Prof Henry Krum, recently presented data on a novel procedure-based approach to the treatment of refractory hypertension in a Late Breaking Clinical Trial session of the American College of Cardiology Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
Prof Krum was also lead author of the simultaneous publication in The Lancet that outlined the study and its results. (Lancet 2009 Apr 11;373(9671):1275-81)
Briefly, this procedure involves radiofrequency ablation of the renal sympathetic nerves anatomically adjacent to the main renal artery that appear to be critical to blood pressure elevation in these patients. Read more….
